I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Tissue Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a minor in Disability Studies. During my time in university, I have gained extensive experience in Science Communication and Outreach and believe a public understanding of science is essential to the field’s future.
My professional aspirations are at the intersection of public health, regenerative medicine, and engineering. I am also interested in exploring the ideas of ethics and cultural competency within Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM).
I intend to pursue a PhD program to develop innovative biomaterials. I ultimately aspire to bridge the gap between scientific researchers and communities by integrating Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) practices into engineering to address existing disparities in healthcare.
